Navy and Dark Red Broken Star Quilt

A Quilt by Hannah's Quilts
Dimensions: 100 inches wide by 110 inches long
Quilt ID: hs10129 Category:

$895

Classic Navy and burgundy quilt that will brighten any room! The star pattern is of the oldest and most familiar of all the traditional quilt patterns, but great precision is needed to make all the star points meet and lie flat!  Four miniature stars adorn the pillow top. Very well made by a Lancaster County Amish woman.

The back of the quilt is covered with a blue and white small floral print 100% cotton fabric. The quilting density is good, averaging about 100 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The hand quilting is wonderful with 8 tiny stitches per inch.

  • Charming design with great combination of traditional patchwork blocks (how many can you name?). and attractive fabric selections. Well made by an Amish woman in her Lancaster home. Great value!
  • Irish Chain quilts are known to have been made in Lancaster since the early 1800's. While this quilt doesn't look at old fashioned, the choice of fabrics, the quilting pattern, and the border are all similar to Irish Chain Quilts made in Lancaster in the 19th and early 20th Centuries. Note the rich white on white print used for the background, and the care taken in the quilting and piecework.
  • Lovely and sophisticated! Superb fabrics and great design that we have not seen before. Very well made -- note the care taken with the piecing and the fine quilting -- by a Lancaster Amish woman. Will look great on either a King or Queen bed or as a large fantastic wall hanging!!
