A 9-patch block has been used for its simplicity to compliment the star blocks. You can tell by lookin closely at the stars, Karel took her time to make sure each one was pieced with precision. The flower quilting design that was used in the 9-patch block is nice detail.  Civil war reproduction fabrics were used with florals, Stars and Stripes.
