Irish Chain quilts are known to have been made in Lancaster since the early 1800's. While this quilt doesn't look at old fashioned, the bright bold fabrics, the quilting pattern, and the border are all similar to Irish Chain Quilts made in Lancaster in the early 20th Centuries. The background fabric is cream white. Note the care taken in the fine quilting and piecework. Made by a Amish woman in her home.

The backgound fabric is cream white. Note the wonderful bold prints, and the care taken in the quilting and piecework. Made by a local Amish woman. This quilt is symmetric and may be used sideways on a king size bed.
