Irish Chain quilts are known to have been made in Lancaster since the early 1800's. While this quilt doesn't look at old fashioned, the bright bold fabrics, the quilting pattern, and the border are all similar to Irish Chain Quilts made in Lancaster in the early 20th Centuries. The background fabric is cream white. Note the care taken in the fine quilting and piecework. Made by a Amish woman in her home.

A pleasing combination of the Lone Star and Trip Around the World designs with prints in shades of blue and yellow (some with golden tones). The background is a fine butter yellow mottled cotton print. Excellent patchwork piecing and fine quilting by its local Amish maker.
