Patchwork Christmas

This Christmas themed sampler quilt is full of charm with the combination of pieced  and appliqué blocks. In this original design by Karel she has chosen some of her favorite things about Christmas.  Poinsettias, Holly boughs, a Christmas tree and a snappy red cardinal are blended with pieced blocks including the friendship star and pinwheel.  Notice that the churn dash block frames a sweet chickadee in a pine tree. Karel's choice of fabrics is worth taking a closer look at in this festive quilt.  The exceptional hand quilting shows up really well in the red border featuring candy canes and holly leaves with a striped binding as the perfect finish. A hanging sleeve and Karel's signature tag are included on the bag of the quilt.
