A perky red cardinal is at the center of this log cabin Christmas quilt. The log cabin blocks have been artfully arranged using lights and darks to create the back drop for this festive holiday quilt. Hand appliquéd pinecones and hand embroidered pine needles add to the seasonal feeling as well. Look closely at all the fun fabrics that Karel incorporates to create the logs for the blocks. Small hand quilted stitches add to the beauty of this original design along with the border fabric featuring holly, berries and pinecones. A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Do you love pinwheels?  Here’s a great original design featuring pinwheels that use 8 different fabrics in them! Both the pinwheel and cornerstone blocks are set on point and the diamonds frame each pinwheel creating a great secondary design.     Wooly sheep and saw tooth stars are combined with a fun block called “this and that” in this original small quilt.  The wool sheep are appliquéd onto the background using the button hole stitch which is all done by hand.  The graceful willow tree in the central block has been created using lots more embroidery as a sheep stands underneath holding a sweet little heart.  Fabric prints were carefully selected and includes stripes, and small florals. Karel loves combining touches of wool fabrics with 100% cottons in this special piece.  Don’t miss the fine quilting especially noticeable in the border.

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back.

These  have all been carefully hand appliquéd with a touch of hand embroidery by Karel.  Multi colored classic fabrics were the choice for her color scheme.  Notice the outer border she chose incorporates all the colors found in the center of the quilt set on a classic black background. The hand quilting is beautiful and accents the design for the perfect finishing touch.
