A graceful wreath is the focal point of this stunning small quilt. Tulips, buds, and flowers are combined in a pleasing arrangement with corner appliqué blocks radiating out from the center wreath along with ribbon star blocks that make a bold statement as they frame the central wreath. Next comes a checkerboard border that completes the look. Karel chose civil war reproduction fabrics because the tiny prints lend themselves well to small applique pieces. The hand quilting is expertly done.
A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand in this original design by Karel.  Her triple signature border and corner squares surround the central floral design.  The floral fabric in the border has a vintage feel with small bouquets and is contrasted by the green checked inner border she used. A variation of the log cabin block works nicely in the corners against the stars and appliqué flowers.  Precise hand-quilting creates a diamond design in each of the triangles that surround the center, along with beautiful appliqué  and the color scheme includes, tan, red, green, and black.
