Wooly sheep and saw tooth stars have been combined with a fun block called “this and that” in this original small quilt. The wool sheep are appliquéd onto the background using the button hole stitch which is all done by hand. The graceful willow tree in the center block has been created using lots of hand embroidery stitches as a sheep stands underneath holding a sweet little heart. Fabric prints were carefully selected and include stripes and small florals. Karel loves combining touches of wool fabrics along with cottons in this special quilt along with fine hand-quilting.
A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

  • Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand in this original design by Karel.  Her triple signature border and corner squares surround the central floral design.  The floral fabric in the border has a vintage feel with small bouquets and is contrasted by the green checked inner border she used. A variation of the log cabin block works nicely in the corners against the stars and appliqué flowers.  Precise hand-quilting creates a diamond design in each of the triangles that surround the center, along with beautiful appliqué  and the color scheme includes, tan, red, green, and black.
  • Five Dresden plates set on point are the focal point of this fine traditional quilt. The Dresden plates are machine pieced and then hand appliquéd to the background squares. They are  then framed by Karel's signature triple border and corner squares. Cross-hatching has been hand-quilted on the set-in triangles to create a beautiful diamond design. Civil war reproduction fabrics have been chosen for the unique blue and brown color scheme and with so many different fabrics used it has a vintage feel.
