Stars and Striped fabrics are combined in this charming, red, white and blue patriotic quilt. Four patchwork hearts are framed with a small red diamond border. Fun fabrics include tiny flags and stars which have been combined to create this Americana piece. Notice the fine hand-quilting which nicely accents the design along with the embroidery stitching around the stars. This is the perfect quilt for anyone who loves our country.
A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch have been included on the back of the quilt.

    Five Dresden plates set on point are the focal point of this fine traditional quilt. The Dresden plates are machine pieced and then hand appliquéd to the background squares. They are  then framed by Karel’s signature triple border and corner squares. Cross-hatching has been hand-quilted on the set-in triangles to create a beautiful diamond design.     Here is a quilt just perfect for a smaller space in your home. The log cabin pattern has always been a favorite of Karel’s because there is no end to the ways you can lay out the blocks.  In this quilt the light logs create a great background for the appliqué pumpkins with their vines and leaves while the dark logs frame them perfectly!  1″ logs have been used to create a scrappy feel and give the opportunity for many earth tone fabrics to be used.  The whimsical pumpkin fabric in the border was a great choice to finish it all off and the hand quilting and appliqué in this quilt are just beautiful!

    This happy small quilt was inspired by Karel’s love of butterflies in her garden during the summer.  The blue and yellow color scheme is reminicent of sunshine and the blue skies.  Morning Glories wind their way around the butterfly house and have hand embroidered  french knots in the center of each flower.  Friendship stars and 9-patch blocks are featured with a yellow butterfly flying amongst them.  The hand quilting and appliqué are expertly done in this cheerful quilt.
