This Christmas themed Sampler is Karel’s 2nd version of the Christmas favorite. Using some of her favorite Christmas blocks, such as a Cardinal, Christmas tree, little red truck hauling a tree and Father Christmas pulling a tree on his sled are featured among pieced blocks. Karel’s love of Christmas fabrics is worth taking a closer look at in this festive quilt. Candy canes amidst holly leaves on a deep red background border the quilt and show off tiny hand quilted stitches.
A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Patchwork Americana is a great addition to any patriotic decor.  Six patchwork blocks are arranged with the 4 appliqué blocks to create this pleasing original  design. Half square triangles, hour glass and checkerboards  add interest to this quilt.  Stars and strips are repeated both in appliqué and fabrics throughout the design.     Log cabin blocks with artfully arranged lights and darks help create the backdrop for this lovely quilt.  A charming little basket of flowers take center stage with butterflies that are flying all around the center. These  have all been carefully hand appliquéd with a touch of hand embroidery by Karel.  Multi colored classic fabrics were the choice for her color scheme.  Notice the outer border she chose incorporates all the colors found in the center of the quilt set on a classic black background. The hand quilting is beautiful and accents the design for the perfect finishing touch.

    An enchanting  flower garden featuring 5 zinnias is the theme of this original small quilt by Karel. The design was inspired by a memory of the colorful, long row of Zinnias that her Grandma planted in her garden each summer.  It features 5 Dresden plates in 3 different sizes with wool for each of their centers.  Special attention to detail went into the hand embroidery in each flower with handmade stems and leaves in green plaids and florals.  Buds, a butterfly and a bumble bee  play among friendship stars in the neutral background blocks and a tan floral border was chosen to frame the quilt perfectly and contrasts with the multi colored inner border.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch is included on the back of the quilt.
