    A graceful floral wreath is the focal point of this stunning small quilt.     Five Dresden plates set on point are the focal point of this fine traditional quilt. The Dresden plates are machine pieced and then hand appliquéd to the background squares. They are  then framed by Karel’s signature triple border and corner squares. Cross-hatching has been hand-quilted on the set-in triangles to create a beautiful diamond design. Civil war reproduction fabrics have been chosen for the unique blue and brown color scheme and with so many different fabrics used it has a vintage feel.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of this traditional quilt.

    Star flowers and berries seem to spring out of a red heart in the center block of Karel’s original design called Star Love. Her signature triple border and corner squares nicely frame the block.  Take note of the fine hand quilting in the triangles that form a diamond design to showcase the center and also the beautifully done hand appliqué throughout.  The star block called “Sarah’s Choice” and a variation on log cabin blocks flank each side of the star and berries border.  Karel enjoys mixing many different fabrics in her quilts to give them a “scrappy” look and this quilt is a great example of that.  A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
