Scrappy star sofa throw quilt is a delightful quilt that Karel has finished just in time for cooler weather. Picture yourself cuddled up in this quilt with the wonky stars that include small 9-patches at the center of each star. Using a mixture of light and dark neutral background squares gives the design added scrappy interest as well. The appeal of a sofa throw size is the many ways you can use it by folding it across the back of a sofa, at the foot of a bed or thrown over the back of a chair. It”s sure to add charm and warmth to any room and would make a perfect gift for anyone. The piecing is precise and the hand quilting is beautiful in this warm, inviting quilt.     Patchwork Autumn is an original design by Karel and was created out of her love for the fall season. Hand appliquéd hollyhocks, flowers, a goldfinch and pumpkins are surrounded with blocks including the friendship star, pinwheel, Ohio star and churn dash to name a few. Half square triangles and hour glass blocks add to it’s charm as well.  The warm floral border fabric compliments the quilt as the flowers and leaves gently wind their way around the quilt and hand quilting is beautiful.

    Sawtooth stars  with cornerstone blocks have been set on point to create this patriotic small quilt. Notice the gold hand-appliqué stars along with Old Glory that have been used around the outside set-in triangles. The finishing touch is the red “thank you” blocks in each corner making this a wonderful quilt for someone who has served our country. Outside red corner squares have the words “Old Glory” written on it. The whimsical striped binding gives it an extra flair and echos all the colors in the center of the quilt. Thrown over a chair, on the back of your couch or hung on the wall this fine piece will defiantly add  Americana feel to your home.  Don’t miss the fine hand-quilting which can especially be seen in the navy border.  A hanging sleeve and signature tag are included on the back of the quilt.

    Wooly sheep and saw tooth stars are combined with a fun block called “this and that” in this original small quilt.  The wool sheep are appliquéd onto the background using the button hole stitch which is all done by hand.  The graceful willow tree in the central block has been created using lots more embroidery as a sheep stands underneath holding a sweet little heart.  Fabric prints were carefully selected and includes stripes, and small florals. Karel loves combining touches of wool fabrics with 100% cottons in this special piece.  Don’t miss the fine quilting especially noticeable in the border.

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back.
