Scrappy star sofa throw quilt is a delightful quilt that Karel has finished just in time for cooler weather. Picture yourself cuddled up in this quilt with the wonky stars that include small 9-patches at the center of each star. Using a mixture of light and dark neutral background squares gives the design added scrappy interest as well. The appeal of a sofa throw size is the many ways you can use it by folding it across the back of a sofa, at the foot of a bed or thrown over the back of a chair. It”s sure to add charm and warmth to any room and would make a perfect gift for anyone. The piecing is precise and the hand quilting is beautiful in this warm, inviting quilt. Karel’s signature patch is included on the back of the quilt.

    Late summer is Karel’s favorite time of the year and was the inspiration for this fun small quilt.  A sunflower bud and sunflower have been created using the Dresden plate pattern, an appliquéd wool center with french knots and prairie points were added  on the flower.  A bumble bee flies happily around the flower as orange pumpkins sit underneath. The black crow perched on the pumpkin is another detail using wool appliqué.  A combination of machine pieced churn dash and 9-patches blocks were chosen to complete this quilt.  The hand appliqué and quilting  beautifully enhance the design as well.

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch  are included on the back.

    Who doesn’t love a cute birdhouse in the summertime? A black eyed susan vine climbs up the post of this birdhouse while a white sheep stands along side.  Notice the sweet little heart being held in the sheep’s mouth and the butterfly that is flying in the center of the quilt.  The scrolling quilting design in the border seems to echo the climbing vine for a nice finish of this quilt.   Precise hand appliqué has been combined with the patchwork blocks in this lovely piece.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch is included on the back.

    Here is a quilt just perfect for a smaller space in your home. The log cabin pattern has always been a favorite of Karel’s because there is no end to the ways you can lay out the blocks.  In this quilt the light logs create a great background for the appliqué pumpkins with their vines and leaves while the dark logs frame them perfectly!  1″ logs have been used to create a scrappy feel and give the opportunity for many earth tone fabrics to be used.  The whimsical pumpkin fabric in the border was a great choice to finish it all off and the hand quilting and appliqué in this quilt are just beautiful!

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature tag are included on the back of the quilt.
