The scrappy Star sofa throw quilt features scrappy, wonky stars with tiny 9-patches in each center. Using a mixture of light and dark neutral background squares are used for the background of each star. The appeal of a sofa throw size is the versatile ways you can use it by folding it across the foot of the bed, on the back of the couch, draped over a chair or bench all ready to cuddle up in. The workmanship in the precise piecing along with the beautiful hand quilting creates a very special quilt. A special floral print set against the blue background is the perfect frame and pulls out all the colors in the quilt.

Karel’s signature patch is included on the back of this quilt.

    Sawtooth stars  with cornerstone blocks have been set on point to create this patriotic small quilt.     An enchanting  flower garden featuring 5 zinnias is the theme of this original small quilt by Karel. The design was inspired by a memory of the colorful, long row of Zinnias that her Grandma planted in her garden each summer.  It features 5 Dresden plates in 3 different sizes with wool for each of their centers.  Special attention to detail went into the hand embroidery in each flower with handmade stems and leaves in green plaids and florals.  Buds, a butterfly and a bumble bee  play among friendship stars in the neutral background blocks and a tan floral border was chosen to frame the quilt perfectly and contrasts with the multi colored inner border.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch is included on the back of the quilt.

Hand appliquéd hollyhocks, flowers, a goldfinch and pumpkins are surrounded with blocks including the friendship star, pinwheel, Ohio star and churn dash to name a few. Half square triangles and hour glass blocks add to it’s charm as well.  The warm floral border fabric compliments the quilt as the flowers and leaves gently wind their way around the quilt and hand quilting is beautiful.
