A classic color palette was chosen for this charming, original Starberry design. Using pieced, neutral log cabin blocks for the center background was a creative choice. Stars and berries with a center flower are beautifully appliquéd along with precise piecing done on the corner log cabin and 54-40 or fight star blocks. Hand quilted diamonds called cross-hatching has been used on the background triangles that surround the center. All the elements of this design come together in such a delightful way in this stunning quilt. A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand in this original design by Karel.  Her triple signature border and corner squares surround the central floral design.  The floral fabric in the border has a vintage feel with small bouquets and is contrasted by the green checked inner border she used.     Late summer is Karel’s favorite time of the year and was the inspiration for this fun small quilt.  A sunflower bud and sunflower have been created using the Dresden plate pattern, an appliquéd wool center with french knots and prairie points were added  on the flower.  A bumble bee flies happily around the flower as orange pumpkins sit underneath. The black crow perched on the pumpkin is another detail using wool appliqué.  A combination of machine pieced churn dash and 9-patches blocks were chosen to complete this quilt.  The hand appliqué and quilting  beautifully enhance the design as well.

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch  are included on the back.

    An enchanting  flower garden featuring 5 zinnias is the theme of this original small quilt by Karel. The design was inspired by a memory of the colorful, long row of Zinnias that her Grandma planted in her garden each summer.  It features 5 Dresden plates in 3 different sizes with wool for each of their centers.  Special attention to detail went into the hand embroidery in each flower with handmade stems and leaves in green plaids and florals.  Buds, a butterfly and a bumble bee  play among friendship stars in the neutral background blocks and a tan floral border was chosen to frame the quilt perfectly and contrasts with the multi colored inner border.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch is included on the back of the quilt.
