A classic color palette was chosen for this charming, original Starberry design. Using pieced, neutral log cabin blocks for the center background was a creative choice. Stars and berries with a center flower are beautifully appliquéd along with precise piecing done on the corner log cabin and 54-40 or fight star blocks. Hand quilted diamonds called cross-hatching has been used on the background triangles that surround the center. All the elements of this design come together in such a delightful way in this stunning quilt. A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Here is a quilt just perfect for a smaller space in your home.     The pineapple has long been a symbol of hospitality and is the central design in this  warm, small quilt.  The  traditional log cabin pattern has always been a favorite of Karel’s and the clever placement of light and dark logs creates a pleasing background for the primitive stars that surround the pineapple.  Small civil war prints have been used in the 1″ wide logs for a cozy, country feel.  The more fabrics in a quilt the better Karel likes it and this one was fun to sew. The hand quilting is especially fine along with precise appliqué  making this quilt a lovely addition to any home.
