A classic color palette was chosen for this charming, original Starberry design. Using pieced, neutral log cabin blocks for the center background was a creative choice. Stars and berries with a center flower are beautifully appliquéd along with precise piecing done on the corner log cabin and 54-40 or fight star blocks. Hand quilted diamonds called cross-hatching has been used on the background triangles that surround the center. All the elements of this design come together in such a delightful way in this stunning quilt. A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand in this original design by Karel.  Her triple signature border and corner squares surround the central floral design.  The floral fabric in the border has a vintage feel with small bouquets and is contrasted by the green checked inner border she used. Hand appliquéd hollyhocks, flowers, a goldfinch and pumpkins are surrounded with blocks including the friendship star, pinwheel, Ohio star and churn dash to name a few. Half square triangles and hour glass blocks add to it’s charm as well.  The warm floral border fabric compliments the quilt as the flowers and leaves gently wind their way around the quilt and hand quilting is beautiful.
