At times, we think that our Amish quilters put all their dreams of a less “plain” life into their gorgeous and often flamboyant appliqued quilts. Even after looking closely at hundreds of Lancaster applique quilts we continue to be amazed by the freshness of design and coloring we see in new quilts. We also see a great diversity in quality of applique quilts and limit ourselves to showing and offering only top quality very well made quilts.
Many of the quilts shown here are marked indicating that they are “available now” for shipment –we are usually able to ship quilts so marked no later than the next business day. Other quilts shown have been sold, but often we are able to find a very similar well-made quilt that can be shipped quickly. Alternatively we can arrange for a similar quilt to be custom made.
Take your time looking through our appliqué gallery, there is a lot to see. We try to show respects for the quilts and the quilters by properly showing them. If you have questions about any quilt, please call or write to us.

Elegant and definitely exceptional workmanship! An original quilt designed by C Jean Horst. Gorgeous 100% beautiful neutral and linens shades of cotton fabrics. Note the all hand appliqued designs and do not miss the tiny little hummingbirds! Excellent and abundant fine quilting with beautiful quilted feathers surrounding the central appliqué. Made in Lancaster. Copyright pattern — directions unavailable. The stitching is very close and very exceptional with 8-9 hand stitches per inch quilted by our Amish friend. The backing is 100% cotton in same lovely Snowberry neutral print like the border of the quilt. The documentation tag is on the back corner and it lists the pattern name, maker, origin, date, fabric content, and made in the USA. We are the quilt capital of the world here in Lancaster County.

A surprisingly delicate applique quilt with lots of quilting. While not a Baltimore Album quilt, this one has a lot of its charming characteristics. The heart blocks also share some of the characteristics of a Country Bride quilt. Great applique work, nicely quilted. Note the applique work on the pillow fold.

A charming quilt for that special baby’s nursery. Look at that cute lamb! The border prints are especially attractive. Nice appliqué work and quilting. Made by Amish woman in her Lancaster home. Quilter’s initial embroidered on the bottom of the ark.
