Stars, strips and other fun Americana fabrics were used in this Dresden Plate quilt in honor of our Country’s 250.00th birthday. The 5 blocks set on point and surrounded by a triple border is a layout you’ll see Karel use quite often. Dresden plates along with Hand appliqué, embroidery and lots of quilting all add up to a great American quilt. You”ll enjoy looking at all the fun fabrics in the Dresden plates along with the charming star print in the corner squares. The triangles surrounding the blocks feature fine hand quilting and the red border fabric with small stars perfectly frames the whole piece.

Karel’s signature patch along with a hanging sleeve are included on the back of this quilt.

    Five Dresden Plates set on point are the focus of this fine traditional quilt.  The Dresden Plates are machine pieced and then hand-appliqued to each of the background squares.  They are then surrounded by Karel’s signature triple borders with charming paisley corner squares.  Note the plaid fabric that was used for the backgrounds, and the cross-hatching that is hand quilted in the set in triangles that surround the blocks.  A variety of prints create interesting plates and give a “scrappy” look to them. A red and blue stripe fabric is the perfect binding to finish this patriotic piece.
