Warm, fall colors have been used in this charming log cabin quilt. Karel has combined light and dark fabrics to create a patchwork star pattern from the arrangement of the blocks. Autumn leaves are falling in each of the corner blocks, while small pumpkins dance around the center all done in wool appliqué.  Embroidery has been used for the details of stems and vines to complete this design.  Don”t miss the delightful prints that were chosen along with the beautiful hand quilting and appliqué.

A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Wooly sheep and saw tooth stars are combined with a fun block called “this and that” in this original small quilt.  The wool sheep are appliquéd onto the background using the button hole stitch which is all done by hand.  The graceful willow tree in the central block has been created using lots more embroidery as a sheep stands underneath holding a sweet little heart.  Fabric prints were carefully selected and includes stripes, and small florals. Karel loves combining touches of wool fabrics with 100% cottons in this special piece.  Don’t miss the fine quilting especially noticeable in the border.

    Here is one of Karel’s classic original designs, the trumpet flower, and it has always been a customer favorite.  Winding trumpet flowers, vines and leaves are surrounded by 5″ log cabin blocks and primitive stars in each of the 4 corners.  This stunning color scheme uses shades of blues, golden tans and ivory and is sure to please anyone who loves blue.  Karel is known for incorporating many different fabrics in her quilts to add interest and texture. Don”t miss the beautiful paisley border that creates a perfect finish for this fine piece! The hand quilting and appliqué are expertly done as well.

    A graceful floral wreath is the focal point of this stunning small quilt. Tulips, buds and flowers are combined in a pleasing arrangement with corner appliqué blocks radiating out from the center design.  The ribbon star blocks make a bold statement as they frame the central wreath and next comes a checkerboard border just to set it all off.  Karel chose to use civil war reproduction quilts because the tiny prints lend themselves so well to the small appliqué pieces.  The variety of prints include stripes, florals and geometrics that add extra interest to the design.  As you can see from the border, the hand-quilting is beautiful as well.  A hanging sleeve as well as Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
