Warm, fall colors have been used in this charming log cabin quilt. Karel has combined light and dark fabrics to create a patchwork star pattern from the arrangement of the blocks. Autumn leaves are falling in each of the corner blocks, while small pumpkins dance around the center all done in wool appliqué.  Embroidery has been used for the details of stems and vines to complete this design.  Don”t miss the delightful prints that were chosen along with the beautiful hand quilting and appliqué.

A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Star flowers and berries seem to spring out of a red heart in the center block of Karel’s original design called Star Love. Her signature triple border and corner squares nicely frame the block.  Take note of the fine hand quilting in the triangles that form a diamond design to showcase the center and also the beautifully done hand appliqué throughout.  The star block called “Sarah’s Choice” and a variation on log cabin blocks flank each side of the star and berries border.  Karel enjoys mixing many different fabrics in her quilts to give them a “scrappy” look and this quilt is a great example of that.  A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    This happy small quilt was inspired by Karel’s love of butterflies in her garden during the summer.  The blue and yellow color scheme is reminicent of sunshine and the blue skies.  Morning Glories wind their way around the butterfly house and have hand embroidered  french knots in the center of each flower.  Friendship stars and 9-patch blocks are featured with a yellow butterfly flying amongst them.  The hand quilting and appliqué are expertly done in this cheerful quilt.
