  • A simple wreath featuring tulips, leaves and flowers are at the center of this small quilt.  Karel choose to use Civil War reproduction prints to create a vintage look in this design.  The block is bordered with a triple border and corner squares, then set on point and surrounded by set-in triangles with beautiful hand quilted cross-hatching on them.  The burgundy border features small berries, and leaves is a nice frame for the center design. A hanging sleeve and Karel's signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
  • Comin Up Sunshine is a nice variation on the Mariner's Compass pattern.  For this quilt Karel choose to use Civil War reproduction fabrics for a vintage look.  Take note of how precisely the points and curves were pieced in this difficult pattern. The curved theme is repeated in graceful flowers that surround the center block.  The appliqué and quilting , both done by hand,  are beautifully sewn as well.  A burgundy border featuring small berries and leaves are the perfect frame for this special quilt. A hanging sleeve and Karel's signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
  • Five Dresden Plates set on point are the focus of this fine traditional quilt.  The Dresden Plates are machine pieced and then hand-appliqued to each of the background squares.  They are then surrounded by Karel's signature triple borders with charming paisley corner squares.  Note the plaid fabric that was used for the backgrounds, and the cross-hatching that is hand quilted in the set in triangles that surround the blocks.  A variety of prints create interesting plates and give a "scrappy" look to them. A red and blue stripe fabric is the perfect binding to finish this patriotic piece. A hanging sleeve and Karel's signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
  • Using simple stems, leaves and berries appliquéd in this variation of a Baltimore Album block gives this quilt a simple beauty all it's own.  The block is set on point with Karel's signature triple borders and corner patches and features an abundance of beautiful hand quilting in the background triangles surrounding the center.  The 30" 30" size is versatile and could stand alone or in a grouping on your wall.  The classic color scheme is framed by a border fabric that features leaves and berries. A hanging sleeve and Karel's signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
  • Woodland critters are a popular nursery theme and inspired this fun child's quilt. Done is tans and grays, the central block features a sweet little fox that is hand appliquéd.  The use of fabrics with leaves, twigs and geometric patterns makes this quilt appropriate for a boy or a girl's nursery.  Hand quilted flowers fill in the background blocks and a fun fabric featuring little bears join in with the fox fabrics. Little fox is just waiting for a good home and can be hung on the wall or used as a child's bank. A hanging sleeve and Karel's signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
  • Flowers and Friendship star blocks go hand in hand in Garden Path, another original design by Karel.  The pleasing color scheme has an Americana feel without the use of stars & stripe design so it's good for use all year round.  The central floral design is surrounded by Karel's signature triple borders and corner blocks set on point.  Precise hand-quilted diamonds set off the set-in background triangles.  Beautiful fabrics were selected in this crisp red and blue quilt.   • Karel found this pattern years ago and has found it to be the perfect setting for the appliqué in this design.  The baby elephant has been hand appliqué with hand embroidered tail and eyes.  Gray, white and yellow are a lovely color scheme perfect for a new baby nursery. The hand appliqué work on the hearts and baby elephant have been expertly done with embroidered eyes and tail.  A variety of prints have been used to achieve the scrappy look of this piece with geometrics, florals and polka dots to name a few.  Hand quilting is beautifully done in this charming quilt. A hanging tag and Karel's signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
  • Log cabin blocks using half light and half dark logs have been artfully arranged in this fun quilt featuring a baby elephant at the center of the design.  The color scheme of yellows, grays and  whites were used in this new take on a traditional pattern.  The hand appliquéd circles with stars and the baby elephant have been nicely done with hand quilting that compliments the overall pattern.  Workmanship has been beautifully  done and this special piece would  look wonderful hung in a nursery or as a special child's blanket.   • When the 8-pointed star block and the snowball block are artfully arranged together it creates a pleasing diagonal frame for the appliqué in this original design by Karel.  A simple but sweet flower vase is at the center and then layered appliqué flowers are centered in the surrounding blocks. So many charming blue and tan fabrics were used in the piecing of this quilt, including the lovely paisley border fabric.  It's interesting that 8-pointed stars are almost hidden until you look for them.  Attention to detail and workmanship are evident in this special quilt.   • Hollyhocks and a bluebird play nicely together with flowers and buds alongside some of Karel's favorite pieced blocks including a log cabin, churn dash, Ohio star, and pinwheel in this original design. Hour glass, and triangle borders meander among the blocks as creative borders. The quilt uses classic colors in this attractive original design.  The lovely, green floral fabric used in the border compliments the quilt's fabrics so well.
