A Baltimore album wreath block is at the center of this quilt with the graceful wreath of flowers that wind around the center of the quilt.  Look closely at the fun tiny prints which were used in all the appliqué. The focus floral fabric with yellow background adds a pop of interest to the design.  The workmanship is beautiful in everything from the appliqué to the tiny quilt stitches.  Narrow borders in green, blue and red help to frame elements in the over all pattern along with a pretty green floral border that finishes the quilt beautifully.

A hanging tag and Karel’s signature tag are included on the back of the quilt.

    A graceful floral wreath is the focal point of this stunning small quilt.     Wooly sheep and saw tooth stars are combined with a fun block called “this and that” in this original small quilt.  The wool sheep are appliquéd onto the background using the button hole stitch which is all done by hand.  The graceful willow tree in the central block has been created using lots more embroidery as a sheep stands underneath holding a sweet little heart.  Fabric prints were carefully selected and includes stripes, and small florals. Karel loves combining touches of wool fabrics with 100% cottons in this special piece.  Don’t miss the fine quilting especially noticeable in the border.

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back.

    Late summer is Karel’s favorite time of the year and was the inspiration for this fun small quilt.  A sunflower bud and sunflower have been created using the Dresden plate pattern, an appliquéd wool center with french knots and prairie points were added  on the flower.  A bumble bee flies happily around the flower as orange pumpkins sit underneath. The black crow perched on the pumpkin is another detail using wool appliqué.  A combination of machine pieced churn dash and 9-patches blocks were chosen to complete this quilt.  The hand appliqué and quilting  beautifully enhance the design as well.
