A simple wreath featuring tulips, leaves and flowers are at the center of this small quilt.  Karel choose to use Civil War reproduction prints to create a vintage look in this design.  The block is bordered with a triple border and corner squares, then set on point and surrounded by set-in triangles with beautiful hand quilted cross-hatching on them.  The burgundy border features small berries, and leaves is a nice frame for the center design.

A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Do you love pinwheels?  Here’s a great original design featuring pinwheels that use 8 different fabrics in them! Both the pinwheel and cornerstone blocks are set on point and the diamonds frame each pinwheel creating a great secondary design.     This happy small quilt was inspired by Karel’s love of butterflies in her garden during the summer.  The blue and yellow color scheme is reminicent of sunshine and the blue skies.  Morning Glories wind their way around the butterfly house and have hand embroidered  french knots in the center of each flower.  Friendship stars and 9-patch blocks are featured with a yellow butterfly flying amongst them.  The hand quilting and appliqué are expertly done in this cheerful quilt.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch are included on the back.

Tulips, buds and flowers are combined in a pleasing arrangement with corner appliqué blocks radiating out from the center design.  The ribbon star blocks make a bold statement as they frame the central wreath and next comes a checkerboard border just to set it all off.  Karel chose to use civil war reproduction quilts because the tiny prints lend themselves so well to the small appliqué pieces.  The variety of prints include stripes, florals and geometrics that add extra interest to the design.  As you can see from the border, the hand-quilting is beautiful as well.  A hanging sleeve as well as Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
