A gracefully floral wreath is the focal point of this stunning small quilt.  Tulips, buds, and flowers have been combined in a pleasing arrangement with corner appliqué blocks radiating out from the center design.  The ribbon star blocks that surround the center maker a nice statement as they frame the wreath and are followed by a classic checkerboard border.  The variety of prints that include geometric and floral prints work together so well.  The appliqué and quilting are beautifully done by hand on this one.

A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Sawtooth stars  with cornerstone blocks have been set on point to create this patriotic small quilt. Notice the gold hand-appliqué stars along with Old Glory that have been used around the outside set-in triangles.     Five Dresden plates set on point are the focal point of this fine traditional quilt. The Dresden plates are machine pieced and then hand appliquéd to the background squares. They are  then framed by Karel’s signature triple border and corner squares. Cross-hatching has been hand-quilted on the set-in triangles to create a beautiful diamond design. Civil war reproduction fabrics have been chosen for the unique blue and brown color scheme and with so many different fabrics used it has a vintage feel.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of this traditional quilt.

    Here is one of Karel’s classic original designs, the trumpet flower,  and it has always been a customer favorite.  Winding trumpet flowers, vines and leaves are surrounded by 5 1/2″ log cabin blocks and primitive stars in each of the 4 corners.  Multi colored fabrics have been used in warm, country colors that give it a “scrappy” look as well.  Karel is known for incorporating many different fabric prints in her designs along with hand quilting and appliqué that are expertly done.
