Log cabin blocks done in half light fabrics, and half dark fabrics create the background for the center circle and primitive star in this folk art inspired quilt.  Arching flowers and leaves wind around the center block with corner log cabins blocks completing this pattern.  Pinwheels and checkerboards are another pleasing element in this original design by Karel.  So many tiny reproduction prints were selected and play very nicely together with the precise appliqué and tiny quilting stitches.

A hanging sleeve Karel’s signature tag are included on the back of the quilt.

    Log cabin blocks with artfully arranged lights and darks help create the backdrop for this lovely quilt.  A charming little basket of flowers take center stage with butterflies that are flying all around the center.     Sawtooth stars  with cornerstone blocks have been set on point to create this patriotic small quilt. Notice the gold hand-appliqué stars along with Old Glory that have been used around the outside set-in triangles. The finishing touch is the red “thank you” blocks in each corner making this a wonderful quilt for someone who has served our country. Outside red corner squares have the words “Old Glory” written on it. The whimsical striped binding gives it an extra flair and echos all the colors in the center of the quilt. Thrown over a chair, on the back of your couch or hung on the wall this fine piece will defiantly add  Americana feel to your home.  Don’t miss the fine hand-quilting which can especially be seen in the navy border.  A hanging sleeve and signature tag are included on the back of the quilt.

    Patchwork Autumn is an original design by Karel and was created out of her love for the fall season. Hand appliquéd hollyhocks, flowers, a goldfinch and pumpkins are surrounded with blocks including the friendship star, pinwheel, Ohio star and churn dash to name a few. Half square triangles and hour glass blocks add to it’s charm as well.  The warm floral border fabric compliments the quilt as the flowers and leaves gently wind their way around the quilt and hand quilting is beautiful.

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back.
