Star flowers and berries seem to spring out of a red heart in the center block of Karel’s original design called Star Love. Her signature triple border and corner squares nicely frame the block.  Take note of the fine hand quilting in the triangles that form a diamond design to showcase the center and also the beautifully done hand appliqué throughout.  The star block called “Sarah’s Choice” and a variation on log cabin blocks flank each side of the star and berries border.  Karel enjoys mixing many different fabrics in her quilts to give them a “scrappy” look and this quilt is a great example of that.  A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand in this original design by Karel.  Her triple signature border and corner squares surround the central floral design.  The floral fabric in the border has a vintage feel with small bouquets and is contrasted by the green checked inner border she used.     Patchwork Autumn is an original design by Karel and was created out of her love for the fall season. Hand appliquéd hollyhocks, flowers, a goldfinch and pumpkins are surrounded with blocks including the friendship star, pinwheel, Ohio star and churn dash to name a few. Half square triangles and hour glass blocks add to it’s charm as well.  The warm floral border fabric compliments the quilt as the flowers and leaves gently wind their way around the quilt and hand quilting is beautiful.

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back.

    The pineapple has long been a symbol of hospitality and is the central design in this  warm, small quilt.  The  traditional log cabin pattern has always been a favorite of Karel’s and the clever placement of light and dark logs creates a pleasing background for the primitive stars that surround the pineapple.  Small civil war prints have been used in the 1″ wide logs for a cozy, country feel.  The more fabrics in a quilt the better Karel likes it and this one was fun to sew. The hand quilting is especially fine along with precise appliqué  making this quilt a lovely addition to any home.

    A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature tag are included on the back.
