    Patchwork Autumn is an original design by Karel and was created out of her love for the fall season.     5 Dresden plates set on point and are the focal point of this fine traditional quilt.  The Dresden plates are machine pieced and then hand appliquéd to each of the background squares.  They are surrounded by Karel’s signature triple border and corner squares.  Cross-hatching has been hand-quilted on the set in triangles to create a small diamond design.  Many different fabrics were used to create the petals on each plate which adds lots of interest.  A fabric featuring flowers in all the colors set on a back background is the perfect finish on this piece.

    A  hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature tag are included on the back of this show stopping quilt.

    Log cabin blocks with artfully arranged lights and darks help create the backdrop for this lovely quilt.  A charming little basket of flowers take center stage with butterflies that are flying all around the center. These  have all been carefully hand appliquéd with a touch of hand embroidery by Karel.  Multi colored classic fabrics were the choice for her color scheme.  Notice the outer border she chose incorporates all the colors found in the center of the quilt set on a classic black background. The hand quilting is beautiful and accents the design for the perfect finishing touch.
