Patchwork Americana is a great addition to any patriotic decor.  Six patchwork blocks are arranged with the 4 appliqué blocks to create this pleasing original design.  Half square triangles, hour glass and checkerboards add interest as well.  Stars and Stripes are repeated both in appliqué and fabrics throughout this quilt.  Don”t miss the Heart block with the words “thank You” underneath that would make this the perfect gift for someone who has served our country.  A fun pieced inner border is finished off with a navy print in the outer border.  The workmanship is excellent from the quilting to the appliqué.

A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    The pineapple has long been a symbol of hospitality and is the central design in this  warm, small quilt.  The  traditional log cabin pattern has always been a favorite of Karel’s and the clever placement of light and dark logs creates a pleasing background for the primitive stars that surround the pineapple.  Small civil war prints have been used in the 1″ wide logs for a cozy, country feel.  The more fabrics in a quilt the better Karel likes it and this one was fun to sew.     An enchanting  flower garden featuring 5 zinnias is the theme of this original small quilt by Karel. The design was inspired by a memory of the colorful, long row of Zinnias that her Grandma planted in her garden each summer.  It features 5 Dresden plates in 3 different sizes with wool for each of their centers.  Special attention to detail went into the hand embroidery in each flower with handmade stems and leaves in green plaids and florals.  Buds, a butterfly and a bumble bee  play among friendship stars in the neutral background blocks and a tan floral border was chosen to frame the quilt perfectly and contrasts with the multi colored inner border.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch is included on the back of the quilt.
