Patchwork Autumn is an original design by Karel and was created out of her love for the fall season.  Hand appliqué hollyhocks, flowers, a goldfinch and pumpkins are surrounded with blocks that include the Friendship star, pinwheel, Ohio star and the churndash patterns to name a few.  Half square triangles and hourglass blocks add to it’s charm as well.  The border features tumbling leaves in fall colors that seem to be falling around the edge.  Take note of the beautiful hand quilting that accents the design.

A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature tag are included on the back of the quilt.

    Log cabin blocks with artfully arranged lights and darks help create the backdrop for this lovely quilt.  A charming little basket of flowers take center stage with butterflies that are flying all around the center.     A graceful floral wreath is the focal point of this stunning small quilt. Tulips, buds and flowers are combined in a pleasing arrangement with corner appliqué blocks radiating out from the center design.  The ribbon star blocks make a bold statement as they frame the central wreath and next comes a checkerboard border just to set it all off.  Karel chose to use civil war reproduction quilts because the tiny prints lend themselves so well to the small appliqué pieces.  The variety of prints include stripes, florals and geometrics that add extra interest to the design.  As you can see from the border, the hand-quilting is beautiful as well.  A hanging sleeve as well as Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
