Karel developed a love of quilting and flowers from her maternal Grandmother and both are reflected in this new design. Five blocks set on point each feature a different type of wild flower. The flowers and leaves are done in wool appliqué and have hand embroidery details added. Each background square is a different reproduction fabric for added interest. The triple sashing surrounds the blocks with a square in square block as the cornerstones. The hand wool appliqué and quilting complete this quilt perfectly. A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Sawtooth stars  with cornerstone blocks have been set on point to create this patriotic small quilt. They are  then framed by Karel’s signature triple border and corner squares. Cross-hatching has been hand-quilted on the set-in triangles to create a beautiful diamond design. Civil war reproduction fabrics have been chosen for the unique blue and brown color scheme and with so many different fabrics used it has a vintage feel.
