Karel was thinking spring when she created this original design with hopping bunnies and a bluebird perched on the branch over a birdbath.  Tulips and a daffodil are welcome signs that spring has arrived along with flower pots all ready for planting. A white sheep holds a small wool heart in his mouth a corner block. Don’t miss the bunny tails and ears that feature wool appliquéd pieces for added texture.  Pieced blocks including trip around the world, Sarah’s choice, 8-pointed star which are some of Karel’s favorites. This quilt is ready to find the perfect place in your home and the work is beautifully done.

A hanging sleeve and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back.

    Patchwork Autumn is an original design by Karel and was created out of her love for the fall season. Hand appliquéd hollyhocks, flowers, a goldfinch and pumpkins are surrounded with blocks including the friendship star, pinwheel, Ohio star and churn dash to name a few.     Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand in this original design by Karel.  Her triple signature border and corner squares surround the central floral design.  The floral fabric in the border has a vintage feel with small bouquets and is contrasted by the green checked inner border she used. A variation of the log cabin block works nicely in the corners against the stars and appliqué flowers.  Precise hand-quilting creates a diamond design in each of the triangles that surround the center, along with beautiful appliqué  and the color scheme includes, tan, red, green, and black.

    Here is one of Karel’s classic original designs, the trumpet flower,  and it has always been a customer favorite.  Winding trumpet flowers, vines and leaves are surrounded by 5 1/2″ log cabin blocks and primitive stars in each of the 4 corners.  Multi colored fabrics have been used in warm, country colors that give it a “scrappy” look as well.  Karel is known for incorporating many different fabric prints in her designs along with hand quilting and appliqué that are expertly done.
