The wheels on the bus song inspired this fun children’s quilt which features a sunny, yellow bus in its center. Whimsical cars and a pick up truck done in cheerful colors with embroidered details appear to be driving around the bus. The pattern features bright colored squares which nicely frame the appliqué blocks as well. The border fabric echoes the cars and buses as children on bikes and jumping rope ride around the border. This playful quilt is ready to become a child’s beloved snuggle blanket right now. The workmanship is very nicely done with hand quilting that enhances the design.

A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch are included on the back.

    Here is a quilt just perfect for a smaller space in your home.   The log cabin pattern has always been a favorite of Karel’s because there is no end to the ways you can lay out the blocks.     The classic Whig Rose appliqué block has been used along with the 8-pointed star block in this design.  The clever placement of light and dark fabrics have created a unique, secondary border design that flows around the blocks .  A lovely floral design is hand-quilted in the other 4 blocks for contrast.  New England red, hunter green, mustard and navy with a touch of black make up this classic color scheme and look wonderful next to the tan and ivory background squares.  The hand quilting is tiny and precise and the appliqué is also beautifully done.     Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand along with a fabulous paisley border that was the inspiration for the color scheme in Karel’s original design.  Her signature triple border and corner squares surround her central floral design.  Note the use of just a touch of red stripped fabric that has been selected for a pop of color.   Precise hand-quilting creates a diamond design in each corner triangles.  Red, Blue and Ivory hint at classic Americana with touches of stars and stripes thrown in.
