This is a brand new quilt arranged by C Jean Horst that is so exquisite with its hundreds of yards of hand quilting thread. It is exceptionally heavily hand quilted with feathers – large and small, and also a charming and beautiful heavily quilted border design. The cream background, even though it is a tiny tone on tone 100% quilter’s cotton print, shows up all the stitches and designs so nicely. While being a traditional patchwork pattern, Jean has transformed it into an heirloom quality quilt due to the exceptional yardage of hand quilting displayed.

This is a special bargello quilt that I designed on my husbands first year anniversary from having an open heart surgery. This heartbeat quilt shows an EKG that reminds me of how fortunate I am every time I look at it. It is another of C Jean Horst’s bargello quilts made with beautiful batik fabrics which she loves to work with. The border is especially interesting and has an added beauty to it by the combination of all the 25 fabrics used.

Two super, very sharp designs. One block is the very popular Log Cabin block. The other block is a beautiful star block. The combination is especially nice and the fabrics are selected by C Jean Horst, Lancaster’s well know quilt designer. We love the classic mix of Navy and Burgundy colors. What a charming but beautiful quilt. This pattern is an original by C Jean Horst and is NOW available for our fellow-quilt makers!!! Please email cjh@amishcountryquilts.com if you would like info in regards to purchasing the pattern and even the kit. BUT for the many of you who have NO interest in sewing, it is available here as a finished quilt. It is a tumbling blocks that has 9 blocks of dark fabrics, 9 blocks of medium fabrics and 9 blocks of light fabrics grouped together to make each large block. A real interesting grouping of many batik fabrics are used to create each of the sides of the blocks. It was pieced by an Amish woman and quilted using 7 – 8 hand stitches per inch. A nicely arranged design.

Wonderful rich coloring with sgreat mix of wheat to gold fabrics and brick reds look great against the quiet moss green prints. These fabrics were selected by Lancaster quilt designer C Jean Horst. This design is also often called Trip Around the World, or Sunshine and Shadow.. Excellent piecework and nice uniform stitching. Made by an Amish woman here in Lancaster. This quilt is signed in ink on an attached label on the back by C Jean Horst. All Jean’s quilts use 100% cotton fabrics picked by Jean. The labor is all American made by an Amish woman and have a documentation label sewing into the back corner with the name of the quilt, maker, date, fabric content.
