Wow! A great variation on the Compass Star design with a brilliant burst of color! So many starry details. Background has white on white star fabric. Compass stars accent the pillow top. Patchwork sashes on sides, with tiny stars stitched on the navy border. Very well made by local Amish woman in her home.

Almost a Postage Stamp quilt, a original postage stamp has a finished 1 1/2 in. square, where this has a 2in. finished square. A bright quilt with remnants from many colorful quilts. Features fabrics that are current and from years gone by. This quilt has over 4,000 small squares in it . Precisely pieced by a Amish widow lady and quilted by another Amish woman. Border consists of deep burgundy, followed by soft tone on tone and finished with a dark navy print.

A beautiful and fresh practical change for a log cabin quilt! Here Jean has used her batiks in teals, blues and paprikas to make a striking but simple log cabin. She has made a popular quilt pattern very unique with her choice of batiks. While each patch is different, all blocks are working together beautifully to show off an awesome collection of 100% quilter’s cotton batiks. She also has a documentation tag on the back corner which gives the name of the quilt, the maker, the location, the date, and the fabric content as well as a note “made in the USA.”

Storm at Sea
$1,495C Jean Horst’s Storm at Sea Quilt vividly depicts the rolling waves of a stormy sea. Surprisingly, the illusion of waves is created by a few geometric shapes – squares, triangles, rectangles and diamonds. Here, C Jean Horst changed the 100 % cotton color pallet to emphasize different elements within the design which resulted in twinkling and stunning stars and wavy lines, creating a new look for an old design. This in an interesting old scriptural-based pattern taken from Mark 4:37-39 NIV where Jesus calms the Storm when he said “Quiet! Be still!” and the wind died down and it was completely calm. Lovely heirloom with the comforting connection to scripture. -
What a beautiful version of a Tumbling Blocks quilt pattern that has 6 star points around each of the 3- Dimensional looking blocks! Fantastic! It has been pieced by an Amish lady who just loves to do Tumbling Block pattern of all kinds on her treadle sewing machine. C Jean Horst has picked 100% quality quilters fabrics for the top and the backing. This is the first of it’s kind to be offered here and Jean loves arranging fabrics for different quilt patterns. In fact, she has been making quilts for 20 years and still loves it!!

A very striking Bargello design with a flame focus in Batik style color fast 100 % cotton prints in hues of land and sea selected by C Jean Horst. Note the care taken with the complicated piecing, and the fantastic border fabrics. Both pieced and quilted by an Amish friend and signed by C Jean Horst.
