The Lone Star quilt is likely one of the most recognizable quilt patterns to Americans.  It is also one of the oldest patterns.  The Amish love the large central star pattern and make their fair share of them.  Its  a beautiful but difficult design to get all the corners meeting at the points of the diamonds.  This is a beautiful example of precision piecing with the use of 12 quilters fabrics for the star.

The backing of the quilt is done with a cream solid color fabric and the hand quilting stitches are counted at 8 per inch.  A Beauty of a quilt with the extra quilting designs that show up so lovely on the bed top as well as the side drop.
