This quilt features a log cabin variation making a beautiful result and stately look.  The colors are beautiful in burgundy, grays, with black border print in tiny stars and whites and a touch of light gray.  The stars seem to be popping up everywhere.  But it was meticulously pieced by an Amish friend who was skilled in her art.  It was also hand quilted by an Amish lady whose stitches are extremely even.  They make a beautiful border.  The backing of the quilt is a gray print in tiny leaf design.  All fabrics are 100% cotton quilters fabrics.   Very well done.

  • A beautiful and fresh change for a log cabin quilt! Here Jean has used her batiks in blues and paprikas to make a striking but simple log cabin, which is why she calls it Simplicity. She has made a common quilt very unique with her choice of batiks. While each patch is unique, all blocks are working together beautifully to show off an awesome collection of cotton batiks. She also has a documentation tag on the back corner which gives the name of the quilt, the maker, the location, the date, and the fabric content as well as a note "made in the USA."
