  • Another new original C Jean Horst design. The reality of life being pictured as a journey seemed to come together when a friend's husband passed away at an early age with cancer. The watercolor wall quilt - the Journey, was designed at that time. And now we have the full size quilts!! Available in queen and king size in this pattern done on a background of my favored Bargello Wave pattern design. This is a beauty of 24 100% quality cotton batiks used for the background pattern and then more added bright batiks in hand appliqué for the butterflies on the quilt top. It is a spectacular coming together of precise piecing, hand applique, and hand quilting. The hand quilting has 8-9 exceptional stitches per inch and notice the theme of butterflies quilted into the quilting design on the middle border AND the batik butterfly print in the outer border! This is certainly an heirloom piece - not your usual quilt.
  • Wow! Look at the super hand quilting in the center heart, and every other quilted stitch too, and the beautiful hand appliqué work in rose, dusty rose and greens on parchment background. Exceptionally well quilted by an Amish woman.
  • Sunrise, Sunset, Sunrise, Sunset -- Lyrics to the Fiddler on the Roof seems to fit this new amazing new quilt's beautiful arrangement of the sky's coloring from day to night. "Seedlings turn overnight to flowers, one season following another, laden with happiness and tears." C Jean Horst needed a name for her quilt the same week that her grand daughter was performing as one of the village children in the high school musical, Fiddler on the Roof. Imagine a quilt to depict the cycles of life! "What words of wisdom can I give them, How can I help to ease their way."

  • Beautiful and interesting! This quilt is sized to turn across a king bed and still have a really good drop on both sides and fit flat at the pillow end. On a queen bed, it would be turned longways and have a good pillow tuck as show on the photos. Blues, neutrals and brown tones make this classic/vintage look Tumbling Blocks a winner. Made by Lancaster County Amish woman and has a corner tag on the backing that documents the makers and the 100% cotton fabric content as well as the origin and made in America.

  • C Jean Horst's Storm at Sea Quilt vividly depicts the rolling waves of a stormy sea. Surprisingly, the illusion of waves is created by a few geometric shapes - squares, triangles, rectangles and diamonds. Here, C Jean Horst changed the 100 % cotton color pallet to emphasize different elements within the design which resulted in twinkling and stunning stars and wavy lines, creating a new look for an old design. This in an interesting old scriptural-based pattern taken from Mark 4:37-39 NIV where Jesus calms the Storm when he said "Quiet! Be still!" and the wind died down and it was completely calm. • This beautiful quilt has a very striking star in the central design and it's deep plum points in the star radiate out to give the star an almost splintered look. The fabrics are so beautiful and blend nicely with the beautiful pieced borders. Look closely and you will see that the border has borrowed 1/4 of the star parts from the center design to dance around its outside edges. Magnificent design that is simply beautiful. 100% cotton fabrics in the entire quilt.
