The special sunflower quilting designs make this a cottage garden full of flowers. The abundance of hand quilting is done with 8 hand stitches per inch and the nine patch blocks are done with 100% cotton prints in multi soft shades on a 100% muslin background. Each block is one inch square. The backing of the quilt is also 100% muslin and has a corner tag to document the name of the quilt and the maker and the date. This is a brand new quilt arranged by C Jean Horst that is so exquisite with its hundreds of yards of hand quilting thread - this one has 693 yards of hand quilting with 8-9 stitches per inch - roughly 200,000 stitches!!! It is exceptionally heavily hand quilted with feathers - large and small, and also a charming and beautiful heavily quilted border design. The cream background, even though it is a tiny tone on tone 100% quilter's cotton print, shows up all the stitches and designs so nicely. While being a traditional patchwork pattern, Jean has transformed it into an heirloom quality quilt due to the exceptional yardage of hand quilting displayed.

Grandma’s Jewel Box
$1,395Amazing look for many pieced blocks of a style we call "hit or miss" which means a random style of patchwork making up the blocks of this quilt top. It's looks like a very old pattern style that is done with new fabrics. Interesting to look at. And so much piecing and quilting. All fabrics are new 100% quilters cottons. It is a quilt pattern that is also called "scrap therapy" and was done during the pandemic of 2020! It is a very interesting and practical quilt with a story to tell. The backing of the quilt is also ivory cotton and coordinates with the ivory fabric on the front of the quilt. The quilting is very nice and has 8 hand quilted stitches per inch - all done by our Amish friends who love hand quilting. -
Another queen original C Jean Horst design. The reality of life being pictured as a journey seemed to come together when a friend's husband passed away at an early age with cancer. The watercolor wall quilt - the Journey, was designed at that time. And now we have the full size bed quilts!! Available in queen and king size in this pattern done on a background of my favored Bargello Wave pattern design. This is a beauty of 24 100% quality cotton batiks used for the background pattern and then more added bright batiks in machine appliqué for the butterflies on the quilt top. It is a spectacular coming together of precise piecing, machine applique, and hand quilting. The hand quilting has 8-9 exceptional stitches per inch and notice the theme of butterflies quilted into the quilting design on the middle border. This is certainly an heirloom piece - not your usual quilt. The backing of this queen quilt is covered with a multi green batik fabric of 100% cotton to accent the front side. Available in queen and king size in this pattern done on a background of my favored Bargello Wave pattern design. This is a beauty of 24 100% quality cotton batiks used for the background pattern and then more added bright batiks in machine appliqué for the butterflies on the quilt top. It is a spectacular coming together of precise piecing, machine applique, and hand quilting. The hand quilting has 8-9 exceptional stitches per inch and notice the theme of butterflies quilted into the quilting design on the middle border AND the batik butterfly print in the outer border! This is certainly an heirloom piece - not your usual quilt.

A very striking Bargello design with extra brilliant Batik style color fast 100 % cotton 25 purple prints selected by C Jean Horst. Note the care taken with the complicated piecing, and the fantastic border fabrics. Both pieced and quilted by an Amish friend and signed and managed by C Jean Horst who designed and selected the fabrics and supplied an accurate pattern for sewing as well as oversaw the steps through the project. Bargello quilts have been a joy to arrange for years because the blending of fabrics. This quilt has 20 fabrics from light to dark making a stunning arrangement and show of color. This quilt pattern referred to as Bargello Argyle is beautifully designed by Eileen Wright in her book More Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts by Martingale. It is reminiscent of the sweaters that were hand knitted in years gone by. It is a perfectly symmetrical quilt that has great eye appeal. Here is a new fresh quilt rearranged into pinwheels similar to the quilt called Fresh from the book "Simply Retro". Included with the quilt are two matching queen size pillow shams. The concept of retro means reminiscent of things past which is so fitting with the pinwheels reminding us all of the windmills of the past generation. Here is a gentle reminder of our heritage again in a beautiful hand quilted quilt. Here C Jean Horst used the fabric collections of beautiful grays and whites in 100% cottons!

A WOW of a Wedding Present! Note the interesting collection of 100% cotton batik aqua and teal prints selected for this quilt. Well pieced and quilted by a Lancaster Amish woman. Signed and dated by its creator, the well respected quilt designer, C Jean Horst of Lancaster. Notice the rings are exactly round unlike many of the wedding ring patterns that are made. It takes a very exact piecer to make this quilt.
