The Irish Chain is a classic quilt that will always be a favorite of mine. I love the variety of pastel fabrics in this quilt. The white fabric on the front of the quilt has delightful little white dots. The back of the quilt is covered with a pink dots on white fabric that compliments the quilt beautifully. The quilt top was pieced by me, Connie Lapp, and hand quilted beautifully by my mother. I think this quilt would make a very special baby quilt that would be treasured forever!

Karel found this pattern years ago and has found it to be the perfect setting for the appliqué in this design. The baby elephant has been hand appliqué with hand embroidered tail and eyes. Gray, white and yellow are a lovely color scheme perfect for a new baby nursery. The hand appliqué work on the hearts and baby elephant have been expertly done with embroidered eyes and tail. A variety of prints have been used to achieve the scrappy look of this piece with geometrics, florals and polka dots to name a few. Hand quilting is beautifully done in this charming quilt. A hanging tag and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

Log cabin blocks using half light and half dark logs have been artfully arranged in this fun quilt featuring a baby elephant at the center of the design. The color scheme of yellows, grays and whites were used in this new take on a traditional pattern. The hand appliquéd circles with stars and the baby elephant have been nicely done with hand quilting that compliments the overall pattern. Whimsical cars and a pick up truck done in cheerful colors with embroidered details appear to be driving around the bus. The pattern features bright colored squares which nicely frame the appliqué blocks as well. The border fabric echoes the cars and buses as children on bikes and jumping rope ride around the border.
