Karel found this pattern years ago and has found it to be the perfect setting for the appliqué in this design.  The baby elephant has been hand appliqué with hand embroidered tail and eyes.  Gray, white and yellow are a lovely color scheme perfect for a new baby nursery. The hand appliqué work on the hearts and baby elephant have been expertly done with embroidered eyes and tail.  A variety of prints have been used to achieve the scrappy look of this piece with geometrics, florals and polka dots to name a few.  Hand quilting is beautifully done in this charming quilt.

A hanging tag and Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Here is a quilt just perfect for a smaller space in your home.     Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand along with a fabulous paisley border that was the inspiration for the color scheme in Karel’s original design.  Her signature triple border and corner squares surround her central floral design.  Note the use of just a touch of red stripped fabric that has been selected for a pop of color.   Precise hand-quilting creates a diamond design in each corner triangles.  Red, Blue and Ivory hint at classic Americana with touches of stars and stripes thrown in.

    A hanging sleeve along with Karel’s signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.

    Late summer is Karel’s favorite time of the year and was the inspiration for this fun small quilt.  A sunflower bud and sunflower have been created using the Dresden plate pattern, an appliquéd wool center with french knots and prairie points were added  on the flower.  A bumble bee flies happily around the flower as orange pumpkins sit underneath. The black crow perched on the pumpkin is another detail using wool appliqué.  A combination of machine pieced churn dash and 9-patches blocks were chosen to complete this quilt.  The hand appliqué and quilting  beautifully enhance the design as well.
