It is hard to imagine that patchwork quilts could be so wondrously varied in design and coloring as they are here in Lancaster. While some traditional Amish designs are made to be reproductions of 18th and 19th Century quilts, most quilts are created with goal of being more lovely than what was made before. Consequently there are many differing and unique renditions of even the most traditional patchwork patterns.
Many of the quilts shown here are marked indicating that they are “available now” for shipment –we are usually able to ship quilts so marked no later than the next business day. Other quilts shown have been sold, but often we are able to find a very similar well-made quilt that can be shipped quickly. Alternatively we can arrange for a similar quilt to be custom made.

A WOW of a Wedding Present! Note the interesting collection of 100% cotton batik aqua and teal prints selected for this quilt. Well pieced and quilted by a Lancaster Amish woman. Signed and dated by its creator, the well respected quilt designer, C Jean Horst of Lancaster. Notice the rings are exactly round unlike many of the wedding ring patterns that are made. It takes a very exact piecer to make this quilt.

Bargello quilts have been a joy to arrange for years because the blending of fabrics. This quilt has 20 fabrics from light to dark making a stunning arrangement and show of color. This quilt pattern referred to as Bargello Argyle is beautifully designed by Eileen Wright in her book More Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts by Martingale. It is reminiscent of the sweaters that were hand knitted in years gone by. It is a perfectly symmetrical quilt that has great eye appeal. This hand quilted quilt is made with 100 % quilters quality cotton fabrics ranging from very light tans to almost gray blacks. Beautiful !

Corn and Beans? How about Tillie’s Treasures? Either name, this old pattern is certainly a beauty and the name Tillie is an old English name from the early 1900s. This pattern is done in half square triangles which follows the tradition of very old quilts. I love quilts that have a secondary design forming from the 4 light triangles coming together as neighbors and making a light square appearing to be set on the point even though the actual patch is square and set into the quilt top with a square placement. It appears to be a complex pattern and it’s stunning variegated coloring almost appears to shimmer. The fabrics are all 100% first quality cotton prints. The quilt is hand quilted with 8 tiny stitches per inch of thread. A practical beauty for any bedroom.

Great design with fantastic coloring by C Jean Horst. Wonderful variation on classic log cabin, with circular quiting. We have not seen a quilt like this one before.
