Wow! C Jean Horst has outdone herself with this quilt — 36 different prints with blues are used and the patchwork is made up of over 7569 pieces. Lovely and amazing. Made here in Lancaster County. This quilt is signed in ink on an attached label on the back by C Jean Horst. All Jean’s quilts use 100% cotton fabrics picked by Jean. The labor is all American made by an Amish woman and have a documentation label sewing into the back corner with the name of the quilt, maker, date, fabric content.

What a lovely design (we think that it is called Cheese Box!) and what wonderful coloring! Made by a young local Mennonite woman who clearly is very talented. Note the care taken with the precise piecing and the fine quilting too. Exceptional value!

Classic design with lovely coloring. The background is a tone on tone cream white cotton print. The quilting design and the background print is slightly different on quilt available. Quilted by a Amish woman in her home and pieced by a Mennonite woman in Lancaster. This quilt is symmetric and may be used sideways on a king size bed. When making a quilt with leftover (scrappy) fabric , there is never another one exactly the same.

Historically, this quilt pattern was a favorite wedding gift for young brides and has been extremely popular since the 1920’s. Subtle and sophisticated with lots of history! New pattern! What a charming but beautiful quilt in blacks, mediums and light prints. This pattern is an original by C Jean Horst and will be available is NOW available for our fellow-quilt makers!!! Please email cjh@amishcountryquilts.com if you would like to receive information on purchasing the pattern. BUT for the quilt buyer who has NO interest in sewing, this quilt is available finished. It is a tumbling blocks that has 9 blocks of dark fabrics, 9 blocks of medium fabrics and 9 blocks of light fabrics grouped together to make each large block. A real interesting grouping of many fabrics are used to create each of the sides of the blocks. It was pieced by an Amish woman and quilted using 8 hand stitches per inch. A nicely arranged design. And if you would like your own colors, we can do a special order quilt if you give us 6 -7 months times.
