This Cathedral Window is a gorgeous work of art done in all sage greens on white and a timeless heirloom! It captures the inspiration of a beautiful church window and allows us to relive our past grandmother’s quilts as this is a very old pattern. This is not the same as a traditional quilt as it has no batting- with so many layers of folded fabric, batting is not necessary. A very difficult and time consuming design! The backing is also white and that is part of the folded process. This Cathedral Windows are VERY well sewn by hand. . The quilt is finished beautifully with triangles on the edges. A very striking Bargello design with extra brilliant Batik style color fast 100 % cotton blue to aqua to green prints selected by C Jean Horst. Note the care taken with the complicated piecing, and the fantastic border fabrics. Both pieced and quilted by an Amish friend and signed and managed by C Jean Horst who designed and selected the fabrics and supplied an accurate pattern for sewing as well as oversaw the steps through the project. The back of the quilt is covered with a 100% quilters cotton in a beautiful tone on tone batik green print that blends with inner borders of the quilt. (photo shows the king size backing which is blue) The quilting density is excellent. The hand quilting is great at 8 stitches per inch. The back corner tag documents the name of the quilt, the maker and fabric content as well as a comment about being made in the USA. Fabulous and outstanding in color! A brilliant combination!

Sharp traditional Classic Amish quilt design! The brightly colored star stands out brilliantly against the Williamsburg blue surrounding, and the quilting is in black so it really looks amazing. The sash is dark green, the border is navy with dark red corner squares. Note the extra stars on the pillow fold. Made with thin batting and all-cotton fabric to give look and feel of an antique quilt. Well made by local Amish woman in her home who quilted her initials in the bottom corner of the quilt. The back of the quilt is covered with a black 100% cotton solid fabric. The quilting density is good, averaging about 100 linear inches of stitching per square foot. The hand quilting is wonderful with 8 tiny stitches per inch.
