Another new original C Jean Horst design. The reality of life being pictured as a journey seemed to come together when a friend's husband passed away at an early age with cancer. The watercolor wall quilt - the Journey, was designed at that time. And now we have the full size quilts!! Available in queen and king size in this pattern done on a background of my favored Bargello Wave pattern design. This is a beauty of 24 100% quality cotton batiks used for the background pattern and then more added bright batiks in machine appliqué for the butterflies on the quilt top. It is a spectacular coming together of precise piecing, machine applique, and hand quilting. The hand quilting has 8-9 exceptional stitches per inch and notice the theme of butterflies quilted into the quilting design on the middle border AND the batik butterfly print in the outer border! This is certainly an heirloom piece - not your usual quilt. The backing of this quilt is covered with a golden/green batik fabric of 100% cotton to accent the front side. Note the care taken with the complicated piecing, and the fantastic border fabrics. Bargello quilts have been a joy to arrange for years because the blending of fabrics. This quilt has 20 fabrics from light to dark making a stunning arrangement and show of color. This quilt pattern referred to as Bargello Argyle is beautifully designed by Eileen Wright in her book More Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts by Martingale. It is reminiscent of the sweaters that were hand knitted in years gone by. It is a perfectly symmetrical quilt that has great eye appeal. This hand quilted quilt is made with 100 % quilters quality cotton fabrics ranging from very light tans to almost gray blacks. Beautiful !

Here is a new fresh quilt rearranged into pinwheels similar to the quilt called Fresh from the book "Simply Retro". Included with the quilt are two matching queen size pillow shams. The concept of retro means reminiscent of things past which is so fitting with the pinwheels reminding us all of the windmills of the past generation. Here is a gentle reminder of our heritage again in a beautiful hand quilted quilt. Here C Jean Horst used the fabric collections of beautiful grays and whites in 100% cottons!
