Another of C Jean Horst’s amazing and well made quilts. Flying Geese is a very organized pattern with 4 sets of geese flying north, south, east and west and forms a star in the joining block. This is a three fabric quilt that repeats throughout. Well made and unusual patchwork. Well quilted by an Amish woman. This quilt was also pieced by an Amish woman who often likes her treadle sewing machine better than her solar powered Bernina sewing machine. Amish are forbidden to have electricity in their homes, but that never hinders their quilt making skills! This quilt has 7 hand quilted stitches per inch.
