  • The pineapple has long been a symbol of hospitality and is the central design in this  warm, small quilt.  The  traditional log cabin pattern has always been a favorite of Karel's and the clever placement of light and dark logs creates a pleasing background for the primitive stars that surround the pineapple.  Small civil war prints have been used in the 1" wide logs for a cozy, country feel.  The more fabrics in a quilt the better Karel likes it and this one was fun to sew. The hand quilting is especially fine along with precise appliqué  making this quilt a lovely addition to any home. A hanging sleeve and Karel's signature tag are included on the back.
  • Patchwork Americana is a great addition to any patriotic decor.  Six patchwork blocks are arranged with the 4 appliqué blocks to create this pleasing original  design. Half square triangles, hour glass and checkerboards  add interest to this quilt.  Stars and strips are repeated both in appliqué and fabrics throughout the design. Don't miss the pinwheel block in the center that features a small handmade yo yo and button. The small "Thank You" block right under the heart makes this a special gift for someone who has served our country.  A fun pieced inner border and red star outside border frame the whole quilt for a nice finish.  Quilting and appliqué are expertly done as well. A hanging sleeve along with Karel's signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
  • Here is one of Karel's classic original designs, the trumpet flower,  and it has always been a customer favorite.  Winding trumpet flowers, vines and leaves are surrounded by 5 1/2" log cabin blocks and primitive stars in each of the 4 corners.  Multi colored fabrics have been used in warm, country colors that give it a "scrappy" look as well.  Karel is known for incorporating many different fabric prints in her designs along with hand quilting and appliqué that are expertly done. A hanging sleeve along with Karel's signature tag are included on the back.
  • 5 Dresden plates set on point and are the focal point of this fine traditional quilt.  The Dresden plates are machine pieced and then hand appliquéd to each of the background squares.  They are surrounded by Karel's signature triple border and corner squares.  Cross-hatching has been hand-quilted on the set in triangles to create a small diamond design.  Many different fabrics were used to create the petals on each plate which adds lots of interest.  A fabric featuring flowers in all the colors set on a back background is the perfect finish on this piece. A  hanging sleeve along with Karel's signature tag are included on the back of this show stopping quilt.
  • Hollyhocks and a Bluebird play nicely with flowers and buds alongside some of Karel’s favorite pieced blocks including log cabin, churn dash and pinwheel. This quilt uses classic colors in this attractive original design. It’s bordered in a navy floral fabric with charming flowers as the perfect finish. A hanging sleeve is included on the back along with Karel’s signature patch.
  • Flowers and friendship stars go hand in hand along with a fabulous paisley border that was the inspiration for the color scheme in Karel's original design.  Her signature triple border and corner squares surround her central floral design.  Note the use of just a touch of red stripped fabric that has been selected for a pop of color.   Precise hand-quilting creates a diamond design in each corner triangles.  Red, Blue and Ivory hint at classic Americana with touches of stars and stripes thrown in. A hanging sleeve along with Karel's signature patch are included on the back of the quilt.
