It is hard to imagine that patchwork quilts could be so wondrously varied in design and coloring as they are here in Lancaster. While some traditional Amish designs are made to be reproductions of 18th and 19th Century quilts, most quilts are created with goal of being more lovely than what was made before. Consequently there are many differing and unique renditions of even the most traditional patchwork patterns.
Many of the quilts shown here are marked indicating that they are “available now” for shipment –we are usually able to ship quilts so marked no later than the next business day. Other quilts shown have been sold, but often we are able to find a very similar well-made quilt that can be shipped quickly. Alternatively we can arrange for a similar quilt to be custom made.

A very striking Bargello design with extra brilliant Batik style color fast 100 % cotton 25 purple prints selected by C Jean Horst. Note the care taken with the complicated piecing, and the fantastic border fabrics. Both pieced and quilted by an Amish friend and signed and managed by C Jean Horst who designed and selected the fabrics and supplied an accurate pattern for sewing as well as oversaw the steps through the project. Bargello quilts have been a joy to arrange for years because the blending of fabrics. This quilt has 20 fabrics from light to dark making a stunning arrangement and show of color. This quilt pattern referred to as Bargello Argyle is beautifully designed by Eileen Wright in her book More Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts by Martingale. It is reminiscent of the sweaters that were hand knitted in years gone by. It is a perfectly symmetrical quilt that has great eye appeal. This hand quilted quilt is made with 100 % quilters quality cotton fabrics ranging from very light tans to almost gray blacks. Beautiful !

Here is a new fresh quilt rearranged into pinwheels similar to the quilt called Fresh from the book “Simply Retro”. Included with the quilt are two matching queen size pillow shams. The concept of retro means reminiscent of things past which is so fitting with the pinwheels reminding us all of the windmills of the past generation. Here is a gentle reminder of our heritage again in a beautiful hand quilted quilt. Here C Jean Horst used the fabric collections of beautiful grays and whites in 100% cottons!
