‘Antique Roses’ is a two-color quilt. The roses are a vintage print on a burgundy background, and I used a tan fabric on the “light side” pathway of the quilt. All the roses, leaves and vines are quilted in burgundy thread. The back of the quilt is a traditional cream color muslin. The length of the quilt can be folded up over the pillows, and the roses are quilted across it, as well as at the bottom border, finished with diagonal quilted lines. The quilt measures 96 inches wide and 106 inches long. (the bottom border is folded up over the footboard to show the quilting).

Here C Jean Horst has used designer Kaffe Fassett’s beautiful new floral 100% cottons to make a strikingly bright but simple log cabin, which is why she calls it Simplicity. She has made a common quilt very unique with her choice of designer fabrics. While each patch is alike, all blocks are working together beautifully to show off an awesome collection of cottons. The lovely part about this quilt is that there is a beautiful feather quilting design going through the lighter side of the patchwork design to create an intricate touch of hand quilting designs. She also has a documentation tag on the back corner which gives the name of the quilt, the maker, the location, the date, and the fabric content as well as a note “made in the USA.”
