Another new original C Jean Horst design. The reality of life being pictured as a journey seemed to come together when a friend’s husband passed away at an early age with cancer. The watercolor quilt – the Journey, was designed at that time as a full scale quilt!! Available in queen and king size in this pattern done on a background of my favored Bargello Wave pattern design. This is a beauty of 24 100% quality cotton batiks used for the background pattern and then more added bright batiks in machine appliqué for the butterflies on the quilt top. It is a spectacular coming together of precise piecing, machine applique, and hand quilting. The hand quilting has 8-9 exceptional stitches per inch and notice the theme of butterflies quilted into the quilting design on the middle border AND the batik butterfly print in the outer border! This is certainly an heirloom piece – not your usual quilt. The backing of this quilt is covered with a light ivory print fabric of 100% cotton to accent the front side. The documentation label is on the back corner and signed by C Jean Horst in quilter’s pigma pen to save the history. Made in USA High quality quilt!

The Irish Chain is a classic quilt that will always be a favorite of mine. The blue fabric in this quilt reminds me of the ocean washing up on white sandy beaches. The white fabric has a subtle white floral design. The back of the quilt is covered with subtle blue print fabric that compliments the quilt beautifully. The quilt top was pieced by me, Connie Lapp, and hand quilted beautifully by my mother. The quilt could be used as a throw, wall hanging, or crib quilt. This is a brand new quilt arranged by C Jean Horst that is so exquisite with its hundreds of yards of hand quilting thread – this one has 693 yards of hand quilting with 8-9 stitches per inch – roughly 200,000 stitches!!! Really !! It is exceptionally heavily hand quilted with feathers – large and small, and also a charming and beautiful heavily quilted border design. The beautiful blue print and the eggshell background, even though it is a tiny tone on tone 100% quilter’s cotton print, shows up all the stitches and designs so nicely. While being a traditional patchwork pattern, Jean has transformed it into an heirloom quality quilt due to the exceptional yardage of hand quilting displaying feather circles and feather plumes. The backing is also 100% quilters cotton eggshell like used on the top side. There are 8-9 stitches of hand quilting per inch of this quilt. Magnificent.

This beautiful quilt has a very striking star in the central design and its burgundy and gray star radiates out to give the star an almost splintered look. The fabrics are so beautiful and blend nicely with the beautiful pieced borders. Look closely and you will see that the border has borrowed 1/4 of the star parts from the center design to dance around its outside edges. Magnificent design that is simply beautiful. 100% cotton fabrics in the entire quilt. The hand-quilted stitches measure 8 stitches per inch. The backing of this quilt is also 100% cotton and is a beautiful medium gray dotted print. Pattern design by Dolores Yoder.
