This bargello is a beautiful display of a creative use of batik colors of neutrals, teals, and blues ad purples that represents the surf song created as you imagine yourself following the waves of the ocean. It’s a new pattern that we love and it is certainly a splendid use of the beautiful batiks as well as the expertness of the Amish seamstress who measured twice and cut once. It is also hand quilted and the hand stitches are beautifully even. The outer border of this quilt reminds me of a coral reef with interesting pattern design. The backing is a light aqua print. So beautiful and unique.

Another new original C Jean Horst design. The reality of life being pictured as a journey seemed to come together when a friend’s husband passed away at an early age with cancer. The watercolor quilt – the Journey, was designed at that time as a full scale quilt!! Available in queen and king size in this pattern done on a background of my favored Bargello Wave pattern design. This is a beauty of 24 100% quality cotton batiks used for the background pattern and then more added bright batiks in machine appliqué for the butterflies on the quilt top. It is a spectacular coming together of precise piecing, hand applique, and machine quilting. The hand quilting has 8-9 exceptional stitches per inch and notice the theme of butterflies quilted into the quilting design on the middle border AND the batik butterfly print in the outer border! This is certainly an heirloom piece – not your usual quilt. The backing of this quilt is covered with a light ivory batik fabric of 100% cotton to accent the front side. The documentation label is on the back corner and signed by C Jean Horst in quilter’s pigma pen to save the history. Made in USA

This beautiful king size quilt has a very striking star in the central design and its burgundy and gray and black star radiates out to give the star an almost splintered look. The fabrics are so beautiful and blend nicely with the beautiful pieced borders. Look closely and you will see that the border has borrowed 1/4 of the star parts from the center design to dance around its outside edges on all 4 sides. Magnificent design that is simply beautiful. 100% cotton fabrics in the entire quilt. The hand-quilted stitches measure 8 stitches per inch.
