It is hard to imagine that patchwork quilts could be so wondrously varied in design and coloring as they are here in Lancaster. While some traditional Amish designs are made to be reproductions of 18th and 19th Century quilts, most quilts are created with goal of being more lovely than what was made before. Consequently there are many differing and unique renditions of even the most traditional patchwork patterns.
Many of the quilts shown here are marked indicating that they are “available now” for shipment –we are usually able to ship quilts so marked no later than the next business day. Other quilts shown have been sold, but often we are able to find a very similar well-made quilt that can be shipped quickly. Alternatively we can arrange for a similar quilt to be custom made.

Wow! C Jean Horst has outdone herself with this quilt which includes 2 queen size pillow shams to match — 36 very rich 100% cotton prints are used and the patchwork is made up of over 6205 pieces. Lovely and amazing. Squares are about 1″ x 1″ sewn which is why it is called a Postage Stamp. Made here in Lancaster by an Amish woman. Note the precision of the patchwork piecing. Wow! A great variation on the Compass Star design with a brilliant burst of color! So many starry details. Background has white on white star fabric. Compass stars accent the pillow top. Patchwork sashes on sides, with tiny stars stitched on the navy border. Very well made by local Amish woman in her home.

This quilt is a traditional Log Cabin quilt block done with a unique fussy cut centers. It is made entirely from popular designer Kaffe Fassett’s line of fabrics – both top and backing of the quilt. The fabrics are 100% cotton but are softer than any other manufacturer of quilters cottons that we know of. We also enjoyed making matching pillow shams to work along with the log cabin patch quilt. This colorful quilt will go with a varied number of color schemes and is bright and creates a carefree look. The white pillow is not included but creates another look if you add more of your own pillows. A note about fussy cut — each square for the center of each block was cut one at a time by centering a clear plexiglass template on the fabric to see through to the flower – thus centering the unique flower in the middle of each block. Gorgeous.
