It is hard to imagine that patchwork quilts could be so wondrously varied in design and coloring as they are here in Lancaster. While some traditional Amish designs are made to be reproductions of 18th and 19th Century quilts, most quilts are created with goal of being more lovely than what was made before. Consequently there are many differing and unique renditions of even the most traditional patchwork patterns.
Many of the quilts shown here are marked indicating that they are “available now” for shipment –we are usually able to ship quilts so marked no later than the next business day. Other quilts shown have been sold, but often we are able to find a very similar well-made quilt that can be shipped quickly. Alternatively we can arrange for a similar quilt to be custom made.

A very striking Bargello design with extra brilliant Batik style 100 % cotton teal to aqua to blue and cream prints selected by C Jean Horst. Note the care taken with the complicated piecing, and the fantastic border fabrics. Both pieced and quilted by an Amish friend and signed and managed by C Jean Horst who designed and selected the fabrics and supplied an accurate pattern for sewing as well as oversaw the steps through the project. The back of the quilt is covered with a 100% quilters cotton in a beautiful multi print that blends with colors of the quilt. (photo shows the backing which could make this quilt reversible – its beautiful) The quilting density is excellent. The hand quilting is great at 8 stitches per inch. The back corner tag documents the name of the quilt, the maker and fabric content as well as a comment about being made in the USA. Fabulous and outstanding in color! A brilliant combination!

Unusual! Look at all those diamonds! A very attractive design that we have not seen before. Wonderful fabrics selected by C Jean Horst. Made here in Lancaster by an Amish woman, and signed in ink on back by C Jean Horst along with the name of the quilt, date, location, fabric content and the note of it being made and quilted by an Amish woman and a note that is was made in America. Notice the hand quilted cabels going one direction and the straight lines running the other way.
