It is hard to imagine that patchwork quilts could be so wondrously varied in design and coloring as they are here in Lancaster. While some traditional Amish designs are made to be reproductions of 18th and 19th Century quilts, most quilts are created with goal of being more lovely than what was made before. Consequently there are many differing and unique renditions of even the most traditional patchwork patterns.
Many of the quilts shown here are marked indicating that they are “available now” for shipment –we are usually able to ship quilts so marked no later than the next business day. Other quilts shown have been sold, but often we are able to find a very similar well-made quilt that can be shipped quickly. Alternatively we can arrange for a similar quilt to be custom made.

A WOW of a Wedding Present! Note the interesting collection of 100% cotton batik aqua and teal prints selected for this quilt. Well pieced and quilted by a Lancaster Amish woman. Signed and dated by its creator, the well respected quilt designer, C Jean Horst of Lancaster. Notice the rings are exactly round unlike many of the wedding ring patterns that are made. It takes a very exact piecer to make this quilt.

Bargello Argyle Queen Size
$1,395Bargello quilts have been a joy to arrange for years because the blending of fabrics. This quilt has 20 fabrics in one color group from light to dark making a stunning arrangement and show of color. This quilt pattern referred to as Bargello Argyle is beautifully designed by Eileen Wright in her book More Twist-and-Turn Bargello Quilts by Martingale. It is reminiscent of the sweaters that were hand knitted in years gone by. It is a perfectly symmetrical quilt that has great eye appeal. This hand quilted quilt is made with 100 % quilters quality cotton fabrics ranging from very light tans to almost gray blacks. Beautiful ! -

Patchwork quilts were more for warmth in the past, but now they are valued for the beauty of individual choices of fabric and design. Here is a beautiful Queen size Trip Around the World quilt that will remind you of the ocean’s surf. This quilt is great to decorate around the colors of a steal blue or a brighter teal!! This pattern is similar to the Postage Stamp quilts that have 36 fabrics and patches cut and sewn leaving a 1 ” block. This Colorsplash quilt is using 24 fabrics, cut and sewn so each block is 1 1/2″ square making this more economical to sew. What a beautiful combination of 24 different blues in batik fabrics selected by C Jean Horst. Sewn by a local Amish woman — note the careful patchwork piecing and the fine quilting.
